About

I am a musicologist and medievalist working on a dissertation on medievalism in popular music. Some of my broad research interests are secular medieval song, pop music genre theory and history, far right medieval appropriations, and musical occultism. When I’m not medievalizing, I tend to write about industrial music.

I like to use blogging as a form of outreach and as a way of working through preliminary ideas before diving into more in-depth formal writing.

Got questions? Please contact me! I love to answer any and all music-related questions, so please don’t hesitate to submit Music 101 questions if there’s anything you want to know.

Beyond toiling on my dissertation, I sew, knit/crochet, and embroider, I practice Shaolin kung-fu, and I hoard plants, and I enjoy the company of dogs.
